A ten-minute drive from Soissons, Restaurant La Louvière stands on the Place de la Mairie in Septmonts, at the foot of the 14th-century keep that overlooks the village. Parking is free and unrestricted in front of the restaurant and around the park, so there is no hunting for a space before lunch or dinner.
Gastronomic here means something straightforward: everything is made on site, from starter to dessert. Sébastien Berthaut, Maître Restaurateur, writes a short menu that follows the seasons, built on regional produce, including vegetables from the gardens of Hautefontaine and Bethancourt-en-Valois. Three set menus: €25 at lunch from Wednesday to Friday, then €35 and €45 for the full menu.
We serve Wednesday to Saturday, lunch and dinner, and Sunday lunch; the restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Booking is best done by telephone. If you are making a day of it, the keep's park and arboretum are two minutes away on foot, and the Saint-Jean-des-Vignes abbey and Soissons cathedral a ten-minute drive.
